βI love Lauren and Isaac! Fate. Coincidence. Bad Luck. Or Truly Cursed. Only Lauren can decide. The journey to that decision is funny heartwarming and I didn’t see that coming all at once. A true must read!β (Nicole Thomas, Goodreads Review)
βEvery time I read a new book of Whitley’s I have a new favorite couple. Lauren was a standout character from the previous book and I was so excited to read her story. I love her lack of filter. Isaac is the best combination of sexy, sweet, and alpha. I would definitely recommend this to someone looking for a great read.β (schlemmerdc, Bookbub review)
βThis was my first book by this author, and I am impressed. I will definitely read more of her work. Isaac is one of the good guys, who became a cop to protect and serve after his time in the Marines. I love that he is a red-haired hero. I really appreciated the real life look at new motherhood through Laurenβs exhausted eyes. The chemistry between them is combustible. I had many moments where I laughed out loud at something the characters said or did. They have a lot of heat in the bedroom. Their friends and the support around them are entertaining and important. There are a few twists along the way; some I could almost see coming and some I definitely did not. I loved how Isaac fought for their relationship in the midst of their trial and that Lauren never stops loving him. Their HEA is awesome in part because they must overcome to get there. I experienced all of the emotions reading this story and I definitely recommend it.β (Judy Lynn, Bookbub Review)

But when her mouth twisted in such a way and that droplet clung to her lip, just calling to him, he said βfuck boundaries,β reached forward and swiped his thumb over her lip. βFor the record,β he said, popping his thumb into his mouth, βyouβre not damaged goods, as you said earlier. When my mom finally left my dad, I would have punched any person in the face who dared to call her damaged goods.β
Heat flashed in the blue of her eyes, and her bottom lip dropped open.
βIβll respect your decision,β he said. βBut just know, itβs not off the table for me β¦ if youβre interested.β
She did nothing more than stare at him. But the flare of her nostrils and the widening of her eyes did all the talking for her.
Sitting up, he adjusted Ike on his lap. The baby didnβt so much as flinch. βBut Iβm okay with just a friendship too. This isnβt an ultimatum.β
βIβm only two weeks β¦β she whispered. βWe canβt β¦β
Shifting again, he turned to face her. Ike remained deep in REM, his eyes behind his closed lids the only things moving, save for the rise and fall of his little chest. βAnd if it is something you want to explore, we can take things slow. Iβm not a horny teenager that needs to jump into bed right away. We can get to know each other.β
She nibbled on her lip. βYouβre saying all the right things, Isaac.β Her laugh was more of a throaty chortle as she turned her head. βI donβt even know your last name. Besides the fact that youβre a copβa sergeantβyou are single and childless and just adopted a kitten, I know nothing about you. And yet weβre discussingβsort ofβthe idea of becoming β¦β
βFox.β
βHuh?β
βThatβs my last name. Isaac James Fox.β
βYouβre Foxy Sergeant Big Hands?β She shook her head and averted her eyes. βOf course you are.β
βFoxy Sergeant Big Hands?β he murmured. Did he miss something?
She sipped her wine. βNever mind.β
