BLURB
I had two rules in life:
Never fall in love.
Never have sex with a student.
As a college preceptor, youβre not supposed to fraternize with your pupils, but what happens when you get a taste of the forbidden before you know it isnβt supposed to be yours?
That night at Brianβs bachelor party was epic. We danced, I dominated, and she left. One night, no further contact, no regrets, just how I liked itβuntil she walked into my algebra class the next week, and I knew the two rules I had in place had to change.
Never fall in love.
Never get caught having sex with a student.
EXCERPT
There were times when Raphael and I danced together, our bodies twisting and turning as more songs continued to play. I could feel Cas watching us, but I didnβt care. I was having a good time with him. At least he wasnβt an asshole. The DJ announced she was taking a few-minute break, so I walked back over to Anna.
βAnna, whereβs the bathroom?β
βItβs back there,β she said, pointing toward the back of the room.
βThanks. Iβll be right back, Raph.β
As I went inside the room and closed the door behind me, locking it, so no one else barged in, someone pounded on the door as soon as I finished.
βSorry, occupied.β
βTaylin, open the door right now.β The familiar voice stopped me in my tracks.
βGo away, Cas,β I said, washing my hands and looking at myself in the mirror to buy me some time.
βOpen the door before I break it down!β he yelled. Is this guy for real?
I unlocked the door, not wanting him to cause a huge scene.
βWhat do you want?β I huffed, shocked by the audacity he had.
He pushed his way in, locking the door behind us. He cornered me and placed his hands on the walls beside me. βWhat are you doing here?β His eyes narrowed at me.
Having him this close did something to my body. I wasnβt afraid, but slightly turned on.
βI donβt have to tell you shit.β
βAnswer me!β he demanded.
I held my ground with him, looking him in his eyes. I wanted to give him such a hard time, and make him pay for everything he had done, but something inside of me obliged. βYour boy, Jay, is dating my best friend, Anna. He invited her, and she brought me. Not that it even matters.β
He went quiet and looked me up and down. βIt fucking matters. Iβve missed you,β he admitted. His head hung low.
βI donβt care. Get out!β I said, tears blurring my vision.
βNo.β He tilted my chin up, staring intensely into my eyes. βI wonβt. You shouldnβt be here with him.β
βThen who should I be here with, Cas?β I pushed him back, trying to create some space between us.
βMe.β What a joke.
βWell, youβve ignored me for how many months now?β
βI had to.β
βWho told you that you had to?β
βItβs complicated, Taylin. Fuck! I justββ
I cut him off, I didnβt even want to hear whatever excuse he was getting ready to say to me. βA simple text would have sufficed, but no, you couldnβt even do that!β I yelled, tears sliding down my cheek.
βIβm sorry, but Iβm gonna take back whatβs mine. Tell me to stop if you donβt want it.β His eyes darkened with desire.
I couldnβt tell if it was the alcohol or me craving his touch, but I choked out, βI want it.β
Our lips crashed together as his hands roamed freely all over my body. He clasped my hands together behind my back and propped my ass up on the sink, moving my dress out of the way for easy access.
βYou will never dance with another man ever again. You got it?β
βThen donβt piss me off,β I sassed with a raised brow.
He tightened his grip on my wrists behind me. βDo you understand what I said, Ms. Bradford?β
βYes.β I nodded, completely breathless.
βGood, girl.β
